    Abstract: 本計畫依中科院方需求提出國科會國防科技應用計畫案「光學陀螺儀多功能光學調制器研製」。主要協助開發多功能積體光學元件之本體製程,亦即Y-型鈮酸鋰波導及電光相位調制器部分。本計畫主要整合三協同合作計畫:協同計畫一「Y 分支單偏振態波導設計」、協同計畫二「Y-型退火質子交換鈮酸鋰波導技術開發」、協同計畫三「多功能積體光學元件電光相位調制器開發與元件性能量測」,並由總計畫負責系統整合工作,提供整合本協同計畫所開發之多功能積體光學元件作實體驗證與應用(探空火箭),來共同完成本兩年計畫之計畫總目標—完成一3.5 cm 長多功能積體光學元件本體,於元件封裝後其性能符合最大半波電壓為DC≤5V、工作波長為1550 nm±20nm、工作頻寬為0.5 GHz、元件總嵌入損耗≤6dB、光強度調制≤0.1%、銷光比≥ 60B。本計畫年度所需開發之主要技術包括鈮酸鋰波導之設計與模擬(協同計畫一)、退火質子交換鈮酸鋰波導之製作(協同計畫二)、電光相位調制器之製作(協同計畫三)、多功能積體光學元件性能量測平台的建立(協同計畫三)等以達成計畫總目標。本計畫所研製之光纖陀螺儀與探空火箭之間界面的整合,將由總計畫負責執行。本計畫所研製之光纖陀螺儀將不止實用在中科院的各項軍事研發上,更希望可在探空火箭九號上首次獲得性能驗證。 This project “Development of Multifunction Integrated Optical Circuit (MIOC) in Fiber-Optic Gyroscope” under the National Defense Technology Program of the National Science Council is proposed to meet the relevant technology development in demand in ChungSan Institute, mainly on the development of the key fabrication technology of a high-quality MIOC comprising an integrated Y-branch LiNbO3 waveguide with electro-optic (EO) phase modulator. In this project, we are mainly to integrate efforts and resource of 3 collaborative projects, including collaborative project I “Design of single-mode, high extinction-ratio Y-branch annealed proton-exchanged LiNbO3 waveguides”, collaborative project II “Technology development of low-loss annealed proton-exchanged LiNbO3 waveguides”, and collaborative project III “Fabrication of MIOC EO phase modulator and construction of MIOC performance measurement testbed”. The head project is responsible for the system integration to promote the integration of the developing MIOC into the constructing sounding rockets for both performance evaluation and practical application. We expect to accomplish a primary goal of this two-year project that a 3.5-cm long MIOC having a performance conformed to the set specifications of operation voltage DC≤5V, working wavelength 1550 nm±20nm, working bandwidth 0.5 GHz, total insertion loss ≤6dB, intensity modulation ≤0.1%, and polarization extinction ratio ≥ 60B will be achieved. We have planned to develop several key technologies in this project including the design and simulation of LiNbO3 waveguides (collaborative project I), the fabrication of annealed proton-exchanged LiNbO3 waveguides (collaborative project II), the fabrication of the EO phase modulator (collaborative project III), and the construction of MIOC performance measurement testbed (collaborative project III), etc, during the accomplishment of the final goal of this project Besides, the head project will play an important role at managing the interface integration between the developing Fiber-Optic Gyroscope and the constructing sounding rockets, so that the Fiber-Optic Gyroscope going to be developed in this project can not only be practically contributed to the military system development in the ChungShan Institute but also can be first performance demonstarted in the planning sounding rocket project. 研究期間:9901 ~ 9912
